The FBR has been asked to issue instructions to the departments concerned to begin the work of connecting the SEZs to the relevant systems. The BOI wrote a letter in this regard to the FBR; advising the tax authority to make arrangements for connecting the special economic zones with the WeBOC and PSW systems.
In turn, the FBR has revealed that the work on this project is already underway, and that the requisite report is expected to be submitted to the PM Office shortly.

The SEZs are being developed in order to create investment and employment opportunities by allowing businesses to avail tax incentives and other financial exemptions.
Similarly, the FBR has also been tasked to introduce a new model in the Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited’s (PRAL) system. This will allow taxpayers to enter their credentials and other required data based on their National Tax Numbers (NTNs).
