Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has collected Rs 647 million in point-of-sale (POS) service fees since July 2023, with PKR 309 million allocated for employee welfare, according to a news source on October 10.

Pursuant to the details, the fees were part of a PKR 1 charge per invoice, with additional funds directed towards POS systems, media campaigns, and customer rewards.
The Senate Standing Committee on Finance also reviewed legal issues around provincial taxes on exports, noting that a proposed 2% Infrastructure Development Cess by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could negatively affect exports.

Additionally, a 10% levy imposed by Iran on Pakistani transporters was flagged as unfair, with the FBR urging the Ministry of Communications to address this with Iranian authorities.
