Pakistan has 6th largest diaspora community in the world at around 8 million people and their contribution in the national economy economic uplift is of the great significance. The scheme offers overseas Pakistani an opportunity to declare their undeclared assets wherever the assets may be located.
The foreign assets can be declared and tax on them can be paid in foreign currency, this is particularly critical for Pakistan’s balance of payment issues. It is in this context that Ministry of Foreign Affairs role is important, FBR officials have contended.
