Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Thursday released a list of 150 top taxpayers in Pakistan – a news source reported.

The list comprise three categories – each containing 50 names – made up of individuals, association of persons (AoPs), and companies.
Karachi-based Saima Shahbaz Malik has topped the category of individuals who contributed to the highest taxes in 2018. It is pertinent to mention that 33 of the 50 individuals on this list hail from Karachi.

In a follow-up to this list are six individuals from Lahore, three from Gujranwala, and two from Islamabad. Sukkur, Abbottabad, Hyderabad, Quetta, and Multan each have one taxpayer on this list.
Moreover, the top 10 individual taxpayers are: Saima Shahbaz Malik (as mentioned earlier), Muhammad Yasin Malik, Ahmed Ullah, Hasan Mansha, former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Syed Babar Ali, Rehan Hassan, Imtiaz Hussain, Malik Shahid, and Muhammad Hanif Jiwani.

The top 10 companies on the list are: Oil and Gas Development Company Ltd; United Bank Ltd; Government Holdings (Private) Ltd; Pakistan Petroleum Limited; Pakistan State Oil Company Ltd; Allied Bank of Pakistan; Pakistan Telecommunications Authority; Habib Bank Ltd; Indus Motor Company Ltd, and Nestle Pakistan Ltd.
