Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) surpassed its revenue goal by collecting Rs. 760 billion in May 2024, exceeding the set target of Rs. 745 billion, as reported on June 3.

According to the details, there has been a significant 31 percent growth in revenue over the first eleven months of the fiscal year compared to the corresponding period last year. In May, FBR recorded a 33 percent increase compared to May 2023, with domestic taxes experiencing a notable 43 percent growth during the month. FBR attributed this success to the government’s strategy of mobilising more resources from domestic taxes, coupled with dedicated efforts from FBR.
