Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) on Wednesday signed a letter of understanding (LoU) at the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training for the fulfilment of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision to promote the taxation system and tax-paying culture in the country; starting with its educational institutes, according to news sources.

The LoU is aimed at promoting tax culture and tax awareness in all educational institutes operating under the FDE. It shall serve to promote awareness and a positive taxation culture in students by using various sets of experiential learning skills and activities aimed to make them responsible citizens.

Moreover, these training sessions will teach students the significance of paying taxes and how to identify tax evasion. Under the three-year timeline of this LoU, the FBR will educate and train 22,000 students and 7,500 teachers through training sessions, a dedicated taxation syllabus, and various seminars.
