Islamabad: The Pakistan Railways (PR) on Friday announced its decision to launch a shuttle train service between Lahore and Gujranwala, according to news sources. To this effect, the department has set the fare at PKR 100.

A railway official revealed that this shuttle train service is being launched on the directives of Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed. The development work for laying the special track for this service and other related infrastructure commenced in January.
Previously, Minister Rasheed had announced the launch of this service in a press briefing and stated that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan would attend the inauguration ceremony.

Pakistan Railways has already re-initiated one such shuttle train service between Lahore and Wagha Railway Station, by the name of ‘Rail Car’ that has the seating capacity of 181 passengers.
