Faisalabad: A Technology Park is being established in Faisalabad, according to a news report. For this, a 12-acre plot of land has been allocated in M3 Industrial Estate in the city. This park is developed by the National Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (NIBGE) and other research institutes. The aim of this is to highlight new inventions and technologies for commercialisation and development of high-tech industries in the country.
The details of this were discussed in a meeting held at the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) where Dr. Mansoor presented on NIBGE. He highlighted the importance of knowledge-based industrial breakthrough and praised NIBGE as one of the best international institutes in the fields of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering. This, he added, would be beneficial, as Pakistan wouldn’t have to import PKR 100 billion worth of medicines rather than producing them locally.
