Faisalabad: The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority has completed the expansion work on Faisalabad International Airport. Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will inaugurate the new building on January 20, according to a news source.
The covered area of the new building has been increased from 36,000 ft2 to 73,000 ft2, which now allows space for 200 passengers for domestic flights and 400 passengers for international flights. Furthermore, four counters have been installed for domestic passengers and 12 for those flying abroad. The airport facility also has high-tech CCTV cameras, fire hydrants, and a fire alarm system now.
Additionally, a modern display system has been installed to show flight schedules. Other features include an Alfa Taxiway on the runway, Fokker apron, and two boarding bridges for the passengers.
