Speaking on the occasion, the PHA DG said that the authority will use the Miyawaki plantation technique on five kanals of land during the testing phase of the plantation drive, adding that the initiative would be expanded to other parks of the city following its success.
She stated that saplings planted with the help of Miyawaki technique grow into complete forests within 20 to 30 years and that time required for traditional plantations to mature into forests is 200 to 300 years.
