Faisalabad: The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the construction of a state-of-the-art Expo Centre in Faisalabad is expected to be signed today (Tuesday), a news source reported. Senior Vice President Faisalabad Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) Zafar Iqbal Sarwar expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with Provincial Secretary Industries Captain (retired) Muhammad Zafar Iqbal.

The meeting was held to review the commencement of construction work on the said expo centre. To facilitate the development work on the facility, the industry department recently allotted 70 acres of land identified in the M3 Industrial Estate.

Discussions took place pertaining to the various modes of construction which could be adopted for the expo centre. A decision was reached that it would follow the model of KPK Expo Centre and Lahore Expo Centre. As per reports, the government will allocate funds for the expo centre’s construction, but the management of the project will be taken over by the Pakistan Expo Company.
