Faisalabad: Faisalabad Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Ali has ordered the district office staff to ‘vigilantly supervise’ the state land recently retrieved from the land mafia in a bid to prevent future encroachment incidents, a news source reported. Further, he instructed the officials concerned to provide notification regarding the status of the recovered land through the issuance of confirmation certificates.

The DC gave the directives while presiding over a meeting held to discuss measures taken against encroachment activities in the city. Representatives of Municipal Corporation Faisalabad, traders’ association, Traffic Police, Commissioner’s Office, and District Council’s Office were all present at the occasion.

Seeking update on the state land retrieved from encroachers in various parts of the Faisalabad District, the DC instructed the officials to hold regular meetings on anti-encroachment operations. He also sought practical suggestions on fixing traffic issues in the Ghanta Ghar area and directed the Traffic Police officers to share their suggestions in the next meeting. For this purpose, Faisalabad Mayor had appointed encroachment officers at Ghanta Ghar in December 2018.

The members of the traders’ association lauded the DC and the District Office staff for their anti-encroachment and land retrieval efforts in the city.
