Faisalabad: The City Traffic Police has decided to form an anti-encroachment squad to keep roads, markets, and streets free from encroachment, reported a news source. Chief Traffic Officer Asif Zafar Cheema will supervise the operations of this squad, while Senior Traffic Warden Muhammad Zeeshan will be in charge.

The City Traffic Police is currently sorting the final names for the squad members, and is likely to pick the best-performing traffic wardens.
The squad’s main responsibility will be to clear markets, roads and streets from encroachments in order to accommodate pedestrians. For this purpose, the anti-encroachment squad will take help from the Town Municipal Authority.
To further ensure that the squad performs its duties without any hurdles, the squad has been given the authority to register FIRs against any encroachers resisting these operations.
The concerned authorities have decided to form a dedicated anti-encroachment squad to clear footpaths and walkways in busy markets such as Ghanta Ghar Chowk, Katchery Bazaar, Rail Bazaar, Karkhana Bazaar, Jhang Bazaar, Bhawana Bazaar, Chiniot Bazaar and Aminpur Bazaar.

Similarly, the current situation of heavy encroachment is also causing traffic problems in Jaranwala Road, Allama Iqbal Road, Circular Road, Satiana Road, Jhang Road, and Narwala Road.
