Lahore: Work is ongoing for plans to provide clean water to the citizens of Lahore, and factories that don’t install water treatment plants under this project will be sealed – a news source reported.
The meeting of a judicial commission headed by Justice (retd) Ali Akbar Qureshi was held recently. It was also attended by Managing Director WASA Syed Zahid Aziz; Member Commission Advocate Syed Kamal Haider; Directors WASA Arif Butt, Mian Muneer, Sheikh Akram; Director LDA Bushra Naseer and other relevant officials. The representatives of the various departments submitted their progress reports.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Water Commission said that factories that release toxic water have been allowed 25 days to install treatment plants, and if they do not do so in the provided time, then they will be sealed until further notice.
