Islamabad: Sector F-10 becomes the first LED-lit sector in the capital, according to a news report. The tough and expensive task of initiation and completion of the project was completed by the local councillor. The project had faced delays in the past because the newly formed Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) didn’t have enough funds.
This project is expected to reduce power consumption by the street lights, from 22 KW to 11 KW. The residents are very excited about this as well as they’ll get a chance to live in well-lit streets after a long time. It is now expected of MCI to replicate this model for other sectors as a way of cutting down power consumption while not compromising on the city’s lighting.
