Islamabad: The Federal Minister for Communications Murad Saeed announced the extension of the Swat Motorway to the hill station of Kalam, a news source reported. Currently, the Swat Motorway Phase II is a project under construction.

The minister, who himself hails from the Swat Valley, announced the project’s extension to Kalam through a video message. He added that the authorities concerned would complete the project with the cooperation of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government.
Saeed lauded the provincial government for the construction of Swat Motorway from its own resources. He added that its extension to Kalam would facilitate the tourists visiting the attractions in the area.
The communications minister also discussed the increased revenue of the National Highway Authority (NHA) due to reforms introduced by the incumbent government. He revealed that the NHA was working towards improving the condition of roads in the province.

In addition to improving the roads network connecting the various tourist spots, Saeed said that they would also enhance the road infrastructure to connect farms to markets in KP.
