Islamabad: The Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) has received a request from the Chief Commissioner’s office to extend the deadline for the submission of property taxes, a news source reported. This happened as a result of a delay in issuance of tax notices, which were sent out a week before the deadline on September 30.

The Chief Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmed received complaints from tax payers regarding the matter. He then issued a letter to the MCI, asking them to relax the deadline, as the tax payers were already troubled by the hike in their taxes of up to 200%. He emphasised that the residents of Islamabad were facing trouble meeting the deadline, so the MCI should consider the request for the convenience of the general public.
