Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan on Sunday said that the Swat Motorway project should be extended from Chakdara to Mingora, a news source reported.

He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting in Peshawar. Minister for Communications Akbar Ayub, secretary communications, chief of strategic support unit, and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Highways managing director were all present at the occasion.
The officials concerned were directed to forward a summary containing proposals to the federal government. The CM also suggested to complete the motorway project in collaboration with the National Highway Authority (NHA).

The second extension project of the Swat Motorway will be completed at a cost of over PKR 30 billion. The new road link will reportedly be 41-kilometre-long. It will comprise two interchanges, three bridges, 43 culverts, and 27 underpasses.
