Islamabad: The government is mulling a three to six month-extension in the amnesty scheme for the constructions sector, a news source reported on December 29. The current deadline is all set to expire today (on December 31).

According to the details revealed, the officials concerned are in talks over a potential extension in Construction Industry Relief Package. Till date, over 350 real estate projects amounting to PKR 140 billion have received government approval under the construction industry relief package.

Moreover, the Prime Minister’s Office has issued directives to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to prepare a draft of a presidential ordinance to facilitate the proposed extension in the relief package for the construction sector.
