He made this remark in response to a question raised by renowned business tycoon Aqeel Karim Dhedhi.
Khan also stated that he was engaged in talks with Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Shabbar Zaidi and Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance Abdul Hafeez Sheikh to figure out a way to make the amnesty scheme application process easier for citizens. The revised arrangement would allow applicants to register on a later date and still avail the benefits offered by the current deadline.

He further added that the government would make an announcement in this regard in the next 48 hours.
Khan opined that the country’s citizens tended to exhibit a tendency towards leaving such matters to the last minute, so an extension of the current deadline may be warranted to benefit the maximum number of people.
