Lahore: Experts, including architects and urban developers, have decided to prioritise the planning of local areas before moving forward with Kasur, Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib as part of the ambitious Lahore master plan, a news source reported. They have also asked the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to expand the city either vertically or horizontally.
LDA, under the chair of Lahore Commissioner Dr Muhammad Mujtaba Paracha, held a meeting to deliberate on Lahore Division’s master plan 2021. The participants included LDA Director General Amna Imran Khan and her team members, experts on urban development and others.
They participants were of the view that the civic body should set boundaries of every major locality in Lahore as the master plan covers a huge area of 11,000 square kilometres that also includes Kasur. They also stressed the need to facilitate the industry under the master plan.
LDA chief Amna Imran Khan said the authority has decide to introduce amendments in the existing building bylaws to address planning and development issues.
