Islamabad: The expansion plan for Murree Road was approved on December 22, 2016 in a meeting held between the Capital Development Authority officials and Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary,.
According to details, the 17-kilometre-long patch of Murree Road from Convention Centre to Bhara Kahu would be expanded and additional lanes will be developed on both sides, making it a six-lane road.
While presiding over the meeting, Chaudhary instructed the officials concerned to expand the overhead bridge near Bhara Kahu for the convenience of pedestrians.
Reportedly, the project will ease the traffic burden on Murree Road during rush hours.
