Islamabad: In order to fix traffic issues, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to expand a patch of the Islamabad Expressway, which runs from Koral Chowk to GT Roar, to eight lanes, according to a news source. The existing road has four lanes. In this regard, a CDA-appointed consultant firm has also started a survey.
The CDA has instructed the consultant firm to complete the survey in two months, prepare cost estimates and documents, so that the notices for tender can be issued in November followed by development work. The project, according to the news report, will be completed in two phases. In the first phase, the road will be widened from Naval Anchorage, and to the GT Road in the second phase.
