The meeting was told that costs for the dual carriageway project increased because of changes in design. National Highway Authority (NHA) Chairman Jawad Rafique Malik stated that from now onwards, the consultant making changes to a project’s Concept-I will be held responsible for cost increase. He added that the Communications Minsitry has introduced the e-billing system. He said that completion targets will be set for each project and delays will be marked. This will allow the ministry to take action against the relevant officer, he added.
