Lahore: The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has spotted over 400 plots in posh housing societies for which the owners had not paid property taxes in the last several years, according to a news source. The property taxes due on these plots amount to PKR 560 million.
According to a survey conducted by the Excise and Taxation Department, 67 of these plots are located in Johar Town, 71 in Wapda Town, 105 in Valencia Town, 57 in Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) Housing Scheme, 37 in Punjab Cooperative Housing Society, 41 in Aabpara Housing Society and 27 in Model Town. The survey findings also state that these plots are of 10-marla and 1-kanal sizes.
Reportedly, tax notices have been sent out to the property owners, while they have also been included in the tax net.
