Rawalpindi: The Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Department Rawalpindi has taken back the notification for the 80% hike in property taxes due for the year, a news source reported on December 14. The same has been revoked for properties throughout Punjab.
The new notices for tax payments will be issued with a 10% discount. As per the sources within the Excise Rawalpindi department, the new tax notices will be issued to over 100,000 property owners. Reportedly, the concerned officials have been given a deadline of December 25 to issue the new tax notices.
The news source also claims that property owners who will clear their due taxes via e-pay by December 31 will get an additional 10% discount. So technically speaking, by clearing your property taxes in Rawalpindi by the end of this year, you will be paying 20% less tax than the amount paid last year. For more updates, stay tuned.
