Rawalpindi: The Excise & Taxation Department Rawalpindi is set to bring recently constructed properties in the city into the tax net — a news source reported. The circle officers have been directed to survey such properties and bring them into the excise records.

According to the details available, the excise officials have made the decision in a bid to raise revenue. All the properties either newly constructed or old that are currently not being taxed will be brought into the tax net. For this purpose, the Excise & Taxation Director had issued instructions to all the Excise & Taxation Officers of the district. They have been instructed to complete the surveys by June 30 and submit reports based on their results.

Additionally, the survey will also identify buildings that have been rented out during the current year, so that they can be taxed as ‘rented premises’ during the next fiscal year.
