Lahore: Minister for Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Hafiz Mumtaz Ahmed on Tuesday launched an online portal through which taxpayers would be able to self-assess their property tax details, a news source reported.

Urban Unit CEO Khalid Sherdil, Excise Secretary Wajih Ullah Kundi, Excise Director General (DG) Dr Suhail Shahzad, Narcotics Director-General Masood ul Haq, and other senior officials from the relevant departments were all present at the occasion.

Mumtaz said that the utility made it easy and convenient for the taxpayers to view their property tax details and removed the unnecessary hurdles of the prevalent manual processes. The portal also allows the taxpayers to update and alter their property particulars online – to be verified and saved by the department, he added.

The Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department developed the web portal in collaboration of the Urban Unit. The Urban Unit has also launched the mobile application of the online portal to facilitate the common people and to make the digital platform more accessible. The online portal can be accessed through the website of the excise department.
