Rawalpindi: The Excise & Taxation (E&T) Department has completed its preparations ahead of a crackdown planned against property and luxury tax defaulters in Rawalpindi and the rest of Punjab, a news source reported. As per officials, the department is set to launch its drive from October 1 onwards.
The department recently provided all sector in-charges with a list of defaulters. From October 1 onwards, the authorities would seal the properties of the defaulters. Moreover, cases will be registered against these individuals to commence with their arrests.

Previously, the E&T department had issued red notices to all the property tax defaulters residing in the Rawalpindi district. It had notified these individuals of a 5% rebate offered on property tax submissions till September 30.
Moreover, it also warned of a grand operation; scheduled to commence from October. As per reports, the department expects to collect property tax dues, along with fines, from the defaulters – and plans to seal their properties.
