Rawalpindi: In the fiscal year 2017-18, the Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Department collected PKR 3.85 billion in the first ten months, according to a news report. These taxes were gathered from the whole region through motor vehicle registration, token and property tax, transfer of vehicle ownership, professional tax, luxury and farmhouse tax, etc. The total target was PKR 4.63 billion, out of which PKR 3.85 billion was collected.
This amounts to 83 % of the given targets and officials have stated that the remaining amount will be collected in the last two months of this fiscal year. PKR 3.33 billion was to be collected from the Rawalpindi region, PKR 180.81 million from Jhelum, and PKR 150.19 million from Chakwal. Officials stated that these goals will be achieved by the time the 2017-18 fiscal year ends.
