Gujranwala: The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) has decided to take over the administration of the historical Jain Temple in Gujranwala, a news source reported. The decision has been taken to renovate and clean the temple.
According to details, ETPB Deputy Administrator has issued instructions to take appropriate measures to protect the temple from additional wear and tear. He has also requested help from the civil administration and police to protect the temple. The program to protect historical places of worship of minorities was prepared after Supreme Court took suo-motu notice of the conditions of Katas Raj Temple.
The Jain temple was constructed during the Sikh era of governance in Gujranwala.
