Rawalpindi: Excise & Taxation-Rawalpindi has added 250 recently constructed properties into the tax net through a survey conducted within the region falling under its jurisdiction, according to a news report published today (July 3).

According to details, the E&T department, had issued instructions last month for circle officers to conduct surveys of the properties by June 30. The department could bring any properties into tax net – both the recently constructed or those that have never been taxes. It also allowed the excise department to add properties that have been recently rented out.

Different property tax rates apply to rented properties and, in Tax Year 2021, they will be taxed according to the updated rates – raising additional revenue for the department. The new additions are expected to add nearly PKR 30 million to the revenue collections.
