Rawalpindi: The Excise and Taxation (E&T) Department has achieved its monthly property tax collection target from all three zones of Rawalpindi – a news source reported.

The E&T officials managed to collect property tax worth PKR 760.41 million from the residents of all three zones. In a similar measure, 32 property tax defaulters were arrested. These individuals were directed to submit their property dues falling in excess of PKR 2.5 million.
Specifically, the department collected property tax worth PKR 250.41 million from Zone I, PKR 250 million from Zone II, and PKR 260 million from Zone III. Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) Muhammad Sameer supervised the tax collection drive.

Meanwhile, E&T officials have decided to freeze the accounts of property tax defaulters in a bid to recover their dues. For this purpose, a summary was recently forwarded to the Secretary E&T for approval.
