Quetta: The Excise and Taxation (E&T) Department, Balochistan, launched an online tax collection system for the province on Tuesday, a news source reported. Speaking on the occasion, Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal Khan Alyani informed that steps were being taken to improve the performance of tax collecting institutions.
He added that Balochistan was in the grips of a financial crisis, so it needed reforms, restructuring of institutions, and amendments in existing rules and service structures.
He expressed his determination to increase the financial resources available to the province from the current PKR 15 billion figure to PKR 40 billion per annum in the next few years. He opined that this will be achieved through good governance and improvement of the tax collection machinery.
The CM also congratulated the E&T Department for launching the online tax collection system successfully.
