Islamabad: The Estate Office and Ministry of Housing and Works shared that they have vacated 2,800 government properties from illegal occupants and handed over the said properties to the entitled persons across the country, according to news published in the national dailies on May 12.

As per the details, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and other concerned departments have also helped the Estate Office in the drive held to vacate properties from encroachers. It was mentioned that the ministry was considering taking strict action against the illegally constructed structures and encroachments in the government houses in the capital city.

Moreover, the ministry will take disciplinary action against employees and their kin and kith who have constructed additional rooms in the government allotted houses. Reportedly, there are 17,000 government houses in the city and extra rooms were constructed in over 2,400 houses.
