Lahore: A meeting of the Punjab cabinet held on Tuesday under the chair of Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar approved the establishment of five cement plants in Punjab of worth approximately PKR 200 billion, according to the news sources.

The provincial cabinet was informed that the no-objection certificates (NOCs) have been issued by five departments within 90 days and 11 additional applications for cement plants in Punjab are currently being reviewed. It was highlighted that establishment of these plants will assist in meeting product demand in the market and creating job opportunities.

This was the 38th cabinet meeting that discussed the 28-point agenda. The meeting also approved waiving off the additional fee on late vehicle registration and waived off charges for unregistered vehicles between April 1 to October 2020 – during the lockdown. Applications for these vehicles can be submitted by January 15, 2021.
