Faisalabad: Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director General (DG) Dr Faisal Azim in a review meeting mentioned that the authority has a zero-tolerance policy against illegal housing schemes being established on agricultural land and zone of green areas, according to news published on July 18.

The director general stated during the review meeting of the Town Planning sections that the authority would guarantee rigorous enforcement of the prohibition on such housing developments and that stern action will be taken against the developers without prejudice. The meeting was attended by Additional Director General Amer Aziz and other authorities.
Dr. Faisal Azim, who briefed the authorities, emphasised that negligence would not be permitted because it is a critical duty to prevent the tendency of unlawful residential projects.
Furthermore, in accordance with FDA DG orders, the enforcement team shut down 11 illegal housing schemes in various areas. The structures of such schemes were demolished during the operation. To prevent harsh legal action, developers are advised to get FDA approvals before developing housing plans.

In addition, the authorities advised individuals to examine the legal status of residential schemes before investing in order to be secure.
