Lahore: An Anti-Smog Committee on Wednesday (February 2) asked Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to buy the latest tools to monitor air quality in the city, according to the news sources. The committee suggested this in the 18th meeting chaired by Traffic Engineering & Transport Planning Agency (TEPA) Chief Engineer Abdul Razzaq.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Parks & Horticulture Authority Lahore (PHA), Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA), Traffic Police, commissioner’s office, The Metropolitan Corporation of Lahore (MCL), and Lahore Cantonment Board (LCB).

As per the details, the TEPA chief engineer stated that the 10th report on the agency’s measures for the prevention of smog and pollution was to be submitted to the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday. He went on to say that a proposal for the construction of the remaining part of Ring Road was to be submitted in the court. It is important to mention that the said project will ease the burden on Canal Road, and in DHA and Cantt Area.
