Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Tuesday held a meeting of its Consultant Selection Committee to scrutinize the firms that had submitted their applications for developing the Lahore Master Plan 2050, according to a news source. LDA Director General Ahmed (DG) Aziz Tarar presided over the session.

As per the details shared, notable officials representing the Metropolitan Planning, City and Regional Planning, and Planning and Development Department attended the meeting. The meeting members reviewed the applications submitted by seven firms interested in working on the Lahore Master Plan 2050.
The master plan will give the road map for city’s infrastructure and civic needs for the next three decades. This blue print will focus on the development of urban as well rural areas of the provincial capital.

According to the LDA DG, the civic agency intends to seek input of the civil society on various aspects of the master planning in a bid to preserve the city’s rich history, improve its environment, ensure efficient use of natural resources, and promote business activities.
