Lahore: Pakistan Railways (PR) on Friday decided to outsource the commercial management operations of its passenger trains by inviting expressions of interest (EOI) via a publication. Sources also claim that PR took this decision to reduce its financial losses.
As per the details, Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad directed the Railways Chief Marketing Manager Naveed Mubashir Chaudhary to prepare tenders for outsourcing commercial operations of six freight and 18 passenger trains. The interested companies and individuals from the private sector can submit their proposals by July 21.
The proposal documents can be purchased from the Railways chief marketing manager’s office in Lahore. As per the publication, following are the details on the passenger trains intended for outsourcing:
