Rawalpindi: The Punjab government has approved the development of buildings for the environment department in five divisional headquarters, according to news published on December 31, 2022.

It was highlighted that the new buildings will be constructed in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan and Faisalabad. The estimated cost of these projects is PKR 1.308 billion. The completion date of the projects is set for June 30, 2024.

As per the officials of the environment department, these structures will be built under the annual development programme. Initially, the Communication and Works Department has been instructed to forward a summary of the environment complex in Faisalabad with modifications, while work on the remaining structures will be launched as planned. It was also reported that environment labs will be established in the said five divisions as well.
