Murree: The ban placed on the entry of tourists in Murree has been extended till January 17. This was shared on the Twitter handle of National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) on Jan 12. The post refers to the MET Office’s forecast for the coming days. A similar warning was issued by the office on Jan 5.

According to online sources, continuous spells of rain followed by heavy snowfall is predicted for the entire next week, starting this weekend. We must also know that the previous predictions didn’t reflect the severity of the snowstorm that hit the upper half of Pakistan on Jan 5. It is believed to be one of the worst blizzards that hit the town in recent times

The ban notice also instructs the motorists to call the NHMP helpline number 130 for travelling information on highways and motorways across the country.
