Reportedly, the plant will have the ability to convert Karachi’s municipal solid waste into a renewable and indigenous resource of energy.
The project will help reduce the solid waste in the city by 3,000 tons per day and will also contribute to Karachi’s growing power needs. Official sources stated that the city produces about 12,000 to 15,000 tons of solid waste on a daily basis, which could potentially help produce 200 MWs of electricity.
