Abbottabad: As the drive for clearing out encroachments continues in different cities, the Karakoram Highway (KKH) was also cleared, a news source reported. The anti-encroachment drive was started in Abbottabad Cantonment on Monday. Illegal constructions were removed from Supply Road to Ayub Medical College on both sides of the KKH.

The police assisted the cantonment executive officer, cantonment board, and assistant commissioner as they supervised the operation. The DPO stated that despite their support to the authorities for the removal of illegal structures, they are also performing their duty of ensuring that no injustice takes place.
The cantonment authorities are not just removing the illegal structures, but have instructed the commercial and residential owners in the area to clear the drains and footpaths too.
