Hyderabad: In a crackdown against illegal occupation of the state land, the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC) has demolished several illegally constructed structures on Autobhan Road, reported a news source.

The operation was launched on orders issued by the Anti-encroachment Tribunal. Following the orders, Hyderabad Assistant Commission Arshad Ibrahim and Assistant Director Shakeel Ahmed supervised the operation.
To deal with any resistance from the encroachers, the operation was carried out in the presence of police. During this operation, the municipal corporation staff demolished four shops built on government land in Autobhan Road. In the same operation, the staff also razed six shops and a wedding hall in Latifabad.

Some of these property owners also claimed that their cases are still being heard in the court and the municipal corporation has no right to demolish them.
