Islamabad: Emaar, a UAE-based construction company, is interested in investing in Naya Pakistan Housing Program, a news source reported. The offer to invest was made by a delegation of Emaar in a meeting with Federal Housing Minister Ch. Tariq Bashir Cheema.
NPHP and how it will help alleviate the housing needs of the poor was discussed at the meeting. The minister informed the delegation that high-rise buildings will be constructed to provide the target of five million housing units in the country and the units will be provided to the poor at affordable prices and the registration process for this purpose has begun.
The minister further added that the environment is right and inviting in Pakistan to attract foreign investment and, on Prime Minister Khan’s orders, plans have been made by several ministries to attract foreign direct investment. These plans will be presented before the PM for approval.
Cheema also expressed hopes that UAE-based companies will invest in Pakistan in the future.
