Gujrat: The district administration recently declared 11 housing schemes in Gujrat as illegal projects, a news source reported. District Council Administrator Dr Khurram Shehzad warned the public against undertaking sale/purchase transactions in the said residential societies.

He said that the citizens should verify the legal and illegal status of these housing schemes prior to commencing with the transaction finalisation, or they could face major financial losses through investments in fake projects.
Among the eleven housing schemes declared illegal, the district administration found three in Tehsil Sarai Alamgir, two in in Tehsil Kharian, and six in Tehsil Gujrat.
The six colonies found conducting illegal operations in tehsil Gujrat included one scheme near Dhirke Bypass, one each in land subdivisions Shadiwal and Bhimbar Road, two in land subdivision Jalalpur Jattan, and one near GT Road.

Chief Officer Ashfaq Waraich stated that the administrations of these schemes would not be allowed to conduct their business (property transaction) and development activities until they obtain the required clearance certificates from the relevant authorities.
