Lahore: Electricity wires will be moved underground on M. M. Alam Road, according to a news report. This is to be done under the Punjab Government’s beautification plans for the city. Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) will work on the transfer of power cables underground.
During the first phase, instructions have been issued to place separate racks for the transformers outside plazas and shopping malls. During the second phase, the cables will be moved underground. According to LESCO sources, the plaza administrations will make arrangements for the digging of trenches for underground electrification, while LESCO will provide full support through labour and technical staff.
