Lahore: The project to move electricity wires underground is currently being carried out on the Mall Road, according to a news source. It is expected that the project will be started in other parts of the city to eventually make Lahore free from dangling electricity wires.
According to the Lahore Deputy Commissioner, the Underground Corridor project has been introduced as a model initially in Gulberg and on the Mall Road, and it will eventually spread to other parts of the city as well. Electricity wires on the Main Boulevard Gulberg and the M. M. Alam Road have already been moved underground.
The Lahore District Administration has not spent any funds on the project, but has completed it with financial assistance from private companies.
