Wazirabad: At least 80% of the housing schemes in tehsil Wazirabad are illegal, and have been ordered to be sealed by the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) – a news source reported.
Some of the housing schemes in question are not registered in government record books. Only three schemes are approved out of the total 34 spread out in Wazirabad (15), Rasool Nagar (6), Dhaunkal (1), Alipur Chatha (9), and Ghakhar Mandi (3).

The approved schemes are: Taj Garden situated on Sialkot Road, Abdullah Town situated on GT Road, and Haji Park near Dhonkal More.
The developers have been running these schemes for at least 10 years.

The 31 unapproved schemes have continued to operate without the sanction of the provincial and district governments. Their investors, however, fear running into major losses owing to their controversial status.
As such, they have requested the DC Gujranwala to take legal action against the owners of the schemes in question.
